Chicago is hosting a brand new music festival this Fourth of July. Brought to you by Deep Cut Presents and The Salt Shed, Rose on the River debuts July 4-7, 2024, at The Salt Shed Fairgrounds in Chicago, IL.
Over the four days, 16 bands will perform.
The inaugural 2024 Rose on the River lineup features My Morning Jacket, Tash Sultana, Thundercat, Vulfpeck, BADBADNOTGOOD, Flying Lotus, Neal Francis, and more.
“Expect an intimate, single-stage, concert series featuring Alt-Indie, Jam-adjacent Rock, Funk, Soul, and Progressive Jazz. No conflicting set times, no sound bleed, and no missing a minute of your favorite bands,” per the festival’s Instagram post. “There will be 4 bands a day, for 4 nights creating an intimate concert series experience.”
The festival takes place on one stage at The Salt Shed Fairgrounds on the north branch of the Chicago River.
Morton Salt once owned the property, which was used for packaging, distributing, and housing the salt company’s local salt. In 2015, Morton Salt relocated, leaving the space vacant for seven years.
In 2022, The Salt Shed opened, hosting artists and bands of all genres.
