EDC has a storied history, dating all the way back to its original start in 1991. The first official EDC event was held in 1997 after a rights deal was struck for the original name and brand, and in 2011 what’s now EDC Las Vegas was permanently moved from Los Angeles to Las Vegas. Since its inception, Insomniac has now expanded the EDC festival series and brand to multiple cities, countries, and even international waters with EDSea’s debut in 2023.
