Folk and bluegrass band, Railroad Earth, started the Hangtown Music Festival (formerly Hangtown Halloween Ball) in 2011 in Placerville, CA. Since then, it has become a mainstay in the hearts of folk enthusiasts alike.
Now held at the Nevada County Fairgrounds in Grass Valley, CA, the 3-day Halloween music festival is a festival for everyone. It offers yoga, arts and crafts, a kid zone, and pumpkin carving stations. In addition, Hangtown has showcased many acts over the years including the aforementioned host Railroad Earth, The Del McCoury Band, Galactic, Greensky Bluegrass, Karl Denson, Leftover Salmon, and Molly Tuttle.
