Coachella has yet to announce its 2024 lineup, and according to reports from Festive Owl’s sources, the potential cause is allegedly impacting other festival announcements across the U.S.
On Wednesday evening, Festive Owl shared the following on social media after speaking with industry sources regarding Coachella.
“Coachella’s ongoing billing + lineup issues are now causing delays in announcements for various festivals nationwide – due to extensive radius and exclusivity clause restrictions imposed by Coachella … with even undercard acts being held up.”
“With still no confirmed timetable, both fans and multiple events are left in the dark.”
Multiple festivals have announced lineups this week, including Resonate Suwanee in Live Oak, Florida. Resonate was scheduled to announce an additional featured artist on Monday yet had to delay the release due to an unnamed California festival’s radius clause.
“Due to the radius clause of a certain festival in California, we need to wait to announce the artist we had planned to release today,” Resonate Suwanee posted. “As soon as we can, we will release this information, but we ask for your patience until then!”
While it can be inferred that Coachella is, in fact, the festival impacting Resonate Suwanee, it has yet to be officially confirmed.
Resonate Suwanee has yet to announce its planned artist addition for 2024.
AEG Worldwide subsidiary Goldenvoice orchestrates Coachella and usually announces its annual lineup in mid-January. Last year’s lineup was released on January 10, just a few hours after Bonnaroo released its lineup. Bonnaroo released its 2024 lineup on Tuesday earlier this week.
Coachella’s two-weekend affair is scheduled for April 12-14 and April 19-21 this year. As a tradition, it will be held again at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California.
The advanced sale window for tickets has ended. The general sale window will come at a later date.
This year marks the 23rd year of festivals for Coachella. The festival debuted in 1999.
