Dead Ahead Fest announced the artists joining Oteil Burbridge on stage at the inaugural festival. The four-day event is scheduled for January 12-15, 2024, at Moon Palace Cancún in Cancún, Mexico. It’s produced by Playa Luna, who also put on the Dead & Company experience, Playing In The Sand, at Moon Palace earlier this year.
“Please join us in welcoming Oteil Burbridge & Friends ft. Melvin Seals, Duane Betts, Jason Crosby, Johnny Kimock, Tom Guarna, Jen Hartswick, Natalie Cressman, Ryan Zoidis, and Lamar Williams, Jr for a special celebration of Jerry Garcia Band,” Dead Ahead posted.
Dead Ahead Fest comes after Dead & Company’s final tour with John Mayer, which ended in July. Mayer will not be part of the Dead Ahead experience.
In addition to the fellow artists, Dead Ahead Fest also released the performance schedule. There will be four days of beach and late-night performances. The final two days will feature the specially curated Dead Ahead collaborations.
The late shows will feature Mickey Hart’s Noche de Ondas, Lettuce for two nights on Saturday and Monday, and electronic producer LP Giobbi with her captivating Dead House Set.
In addition to the beach and late-night, Dead Ahead will host pool parties and performances by Brittney Spencer and Jaime Wyatt.

General on-sale will follow the next day, Friday, September 15, at 1 PM EDT.
Payment plans are also offered in three equal installments, due on October 13, November 13, and December 13.
