UPDATE June 29, 2022
West Fest Chicago has released the daily schedule.
After a two-year hiatus, West Fest Chicago is back in action taking place on Chicago Avenue, between Damen Avenue and Wood Street in the city’s West Town neighborhood July 8-10, 2022.
West Town Chamber of Commerce, a non-profit organization, started the popular street festival in 2004, bringing local offerings and talent to Chicago Avenue. The chamber’s mission is “to strengthen its business community so that West Town Chicago continues to be a destination for shopping, dining, professional services, nightlife, and culture.”
Main Stage headliners include Salt Lake City dream-pop band Choir Boy, Chicago-based indie rocker Lala Lala, and Detroit rockers Protomartyr. Other notable artists are Deerhoof, Sextile, and Shiner.
The Chicago House DJ Stage headliners include Derrick Carter and Mark Farina. Support comes in the form of SuperJane (DJ Heather, Lady D, Colette, Dayhota), DJ Diz, and Hiroko Yamamura.
In addition to the music, the festival hosts a Pet Fest and Kid Fest. The Pet Fest features a dog obstacle course, paw painting, pet retail, and services booths. The Kid Fest offers quality family activities including train rides, bounce houses, an inflatable super slide, pony rides, carnival games, kid-friendly vendors, and a kid’s stage with live family-friendly music.
There is a suggested donation of $10 to attend the event. Proceeds benefit local non-profits and schools.
This event is all-ages.
