Andrew McMahon, frontman to Something Corporate, Jack’s Mannequin, and Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness, has announced his first-ever cruise event in 2024, with all three projects slated to play onboard. He’s also bringing along some friends you might recognize from the emo-pop-rock days of the early 2000s.
Holiday From Real departs from Miami on November 9 and returns on November 13, making two stops in the Bahamas: Great Stirrup Cay and Nassau. The event is hosted aboard the Norwegian Gem, a luxury cruiseliner with a pool, hot tub, casino, spa, fitness center, restaurants, and bars.
Supporting acts include The Academy Is…, MisterWives, Ruston Kelly, Jukebox The Ghost, Cartel, Augustana, Wildermiss, Hunter Deblanc, Bob Oxblood, Zac Clark, and Bikelock.
The ship sets sail Saturday with a toast and a performance from Andrew’s latest project, Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness.
Sunday will feature a Something Corporate set, and Monday will be Jack’s Mannequin.
Tuesday closes things out with a unique collaboration set from Andrew and friends. Each day will feature other performances from supporting artists and activities, including karaoke, DJs, pool deck sets, and more.
The Dear Jack Foundation will also have a presence. They will host their 15th annual benefit on November 11. The adolescent and young adult cancer awareness organization will have daily events on the ship for attendees to donate and participate in. Andrew McMahon was diagnosed with leukemia in 2005 and has been in remission thanks to a bone marrow transplant from his sister. He has dedicated his career to raising awareness and funds for cancer research and released a documentary, Dear Jack, in 2009.
Other special activities include a Q&A with Andrew, a photoshoot with Andrew for the first 500 guests to book, shore excursions, a talent show, beer pong and flip cup tournaments, and more.
