Format Festival announces artists by day.
Music, art, and technology event Format Festival is set to premiere in Bentonville, AR on September 23-25, 2022. Camping is available onsite but not included in a 3-day pass.
The debut lineup features RÜFÜS DU SOL, Phoenix, Khruangbin, Beach House, The War On Drugs, Nile Rodgers & Chic, The Flaming Lips, Jungle, Herbie Hancock, The Marías, Richie Hawtin, Thundercat, Fatboy Slim, Moses Sumney, Elle King, Robert Glasper, Leftover Salmon, Chali 2na & Cut Chemist, and many more.
The festival aims to encourage discovery, spark curiosity, and build community by featuring a diverse musical lineup and two dozen visual, performance, and institutional artists from around the world. The site is 250 acres of a natural landing strip surrounded by a forested ravine.
The fest’s several art installations include the stages themselves. Smokey’s is an “adult playground” which features wooden structures and hidden enclaves designed by Brazilian artist duo, assume vivid astro focus. The Cube is an open-air multi-storied structure acting as a day and nighttime experimental sound venue. Nova Heart is a multi-room immersive installation and structure that takes attendees on a multi-layered narrative, with surprise performances and sonic sessions. The Bizarre Bazaar is a maze of vendors, installations, performances, and a food court. To draw on local talent, Format has invited local artists to compete to create the entrance gate for the festival.
3-day GA passes are $300 and fees, VIP is $900 and fees, and Platinum is $2500 and fees. Tickets, camping options, hotel packages, and more can be found here. Please note that personal tents are not permitted at the festival.
Health and safety: Format Festival has not yet announced any COVID-19 precautions, but may require proof of vaccination or a negative test for entry.
This is an all-ages event. Children under 8 are free.
