Colorado’s beloved Frozen Dead Guy Days moves to a new home in 2023 and features a more diverse music lineup than ever. FDGD will relocate to Estes Park Events Complex and the iconic Stanley Hotel on Saint Patrick’s Day weekend, March 17-19. The Royal Blue Ball will take place on March 17 at the Stanley Hotel and will feature live music, a costume contest, a cash bar, and appetizers.
FDGD 2023 was canceled unceremoniously in November 2022 but was picked up quickly by new owners.
Headliners for the event are The Polish Ambassador, Break Science, and one headliner TBA. The undercard includes Eddie Roberts & Friends, Evanoff, Magic Beans, Bill & Jilian Nershi feat. Jason Hann, A-Mac & the Height, Toubab Krewe, Cycles, Tenth Mountain Division, Drunken Hearts, and more.
The Royal Blue Ball will feature performances by The Polish Ambassador, Evanoff, and Eddie Roberts & Friends.
Horror fans will know the Stanley Hotel as the inspiration behind Stephen King’s The Shining because it is claimed to be one of the most haunted places in the US. Frozen Dead Guy Days was created 20 years ago to honor the crazy-but-true story of Bredo Morstøl (aka Grandpa Bedo), a Norwegian man who was cryogenically frozen and shipped to the US by his family. His body was found in a shed in Nederland years later. In 2022, the event drew 20,000 people to the small town to watch live music, participate in polar plunges and coffin races, and drink craft brews and cocktails. The new location is a perfect fit for this quirky event.
Tickets are $39 + fees and include all music performances. Coffin Race registration is $98 per team. View ticket options here.
Admission to the Royal Blue Ball is $99 + fees and can be purchased here. This event is 21+ only. Festivalgoers can acquire BOGO tickets by booking a stay at the Stanley Hotel (if you’re brave enough).
Frozen Dead Guy Day is an all-ages event. Children under 2 are free.
