The 17th annual Hyde Park Jazz Festival returns on June 23-24 in Chicago, IL. The free event features live music, food, and community celebration.
The music lineup features artists like Kenny Barron, The Louis Hayes Quintet, Endea Owens and The Cookout, Melanie Charles w/ Marquis Hill, Pedrito Martinez Group, Ches Smith and We All Break, Courtney Bryan, Chico Freeman Quintet, Jason Adasiewicz plays Roscoe Mitchell, and Dee Alexander’s Ancestors Reign.
The Hyde Park Jazz Festival is co-produced with the Hyde Park Jazz Society. The collaboration dedicates its efforts to supporting the ongoing development of jazz music, particularly on the South Side of Chicago. It creates opportunities for new and old listeners to engage with the music and its creators to celebrate the rich tradition of jazz and support new work and ideas.
The event’s benefit concert and dinner will be held on June 22 at the Promontory with a special performance by Eric Reed Trio. The benefit helps keep the main event free and is currently waitlisted.
