LEVITATION, the Austin multi-venue psychedelic rock event, returns on October 26-29. The music festival is known for hosting underground and emerging artists that eventually rise to headliner status.
Artists featured on the 2023 lineup are Unwound, Oneohtrix Point Never, Ty Segall & Freedom Band, Shannon & The Clams, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Flying Lotus, Panda Bear + Sonic Bloom, Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats, The Brian Jonestown Massacre, The Black Angels, Amyl and the Sniffers, Durand Jones, The Dandy Warhols, BADBADNOTGOOD, Beach Fossils, Altin Gün, Turnover, Death From Above 1979, and many, many more.
The festival hosts artists at several venues across the city, including Stubb’s, The Far Out Lounge, The Concourse Project, Mohawk, Empire Control Room, Hotel Vegas, Antone’s Nightclub, Parish, Elysium, and 13th Floor.
LEVITATION was founded in 2008 by members of The Black Angels, originally Austin Psych Fest, and later renamed in honor of psychedelic rock pioneers The 13th Floor Elevators. The festival has evolved into a community-driven counterculture event that draws inspiration from Austin’s 1960s psych scene. The eclectic lineup usually features psychedelic rock, punk, indie, metal, darkwave, and electronic music.
4-day weekend passes are $395 + fees, while single-day passes range from $18-$55.
