Porter Robinson’s Second Sky Music Festival has a lineup for 2021. It will be held on September 18 and 19, 2021, at Oakland Arena Grounds in Oakland, CA.
This will be Second Sky’s first in-person event. Porter Robinson hosted two virtual festivals in spring 2020 and April 2021 called Secret Sky. He also released his first album in 7 years, Nurture.
Secret Sky was a huge success during a time when music festivals were not an option. It featured an interactive experience for the viewer and AR with Facebook’s Oculus. The event raised over $115,000 for MusiCares COVID19 Relief Fund and featured EDM’s top artists performing from various social media outlets. Viewers were able to download personal avatars and interact with others in real time. Secret Sky proved that digital music festivals can be a viable way for music-lovers to connect and the visuals and interactive experiences were just about as close to the real thing as we could get in 2020.
In its first iteration, the 2020 Secret Sky lineup featured San Holo, Madeon, Jai Wolf, G Jones, Lil Texas, and WAVEDASH. The Spring 2021 lineup included Baauer, Boys Noize, No Rome, Rezz, and Wave Racer.
Second Sky 2021 will see the return of Madeon, Jai Wolf, WAVEDASH, and of course Porter Robinson. The lineup also features Jon Hopkins, Toro y Moi, Jacob Collier, Knower, and JYOCHO.
The festival is already sold out, but there is a waitlist available. Tickets started at $130 for a GA 2-day pass and $250 for a VIP pass. Second Sky is an 18+ event.
